About WCSDS
Our Mission
Whistle and Crook Stock Dog Services Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
Our mission is to both promote the use of, and provide education about, herding dogs for livestock management and competition.
To this end we host each year the Northwest Championship Sheepdog Trial the third weekend in May. It is held simultaneously with the Linn County Lamb and Wool Fair in Scio, Oregon.
We also hold several clinics each year with top herding trainers from around the world as well as respected local trainers.
We are currently developing programs to reach out to commercial sheep producers in the Willamette Valley. The first of these is a program to subsidize the cost of sheepdog training lessons for people working for these producers.
Additionally, we run a crew of people called "Get Set" that offers sheep-setting services for local competitions.
